Veteran Housing Project Receives Approval to Purchase Land from City of Las Vegas for $8.9 Million
LAS VEGAS (Dec. 17, 2025) — The Las Vegas City Council voted today to advance the sale of City of Las Vegas owned real property located at 6211 Vegas Valley Drive, following a public hearing and related actions taken during its regular meeting.
The council approved a Letter of Intent between the City of Las Vegas and Patriot Housing LV, LLC for the sale of the 15.12 -acre property for $8,960,000.
Mayor Shelley Berkley said the project addresses a critical community need.
“This project reflects the city of Las Vegas’ commitment to support veterans who have served our country and now need stable housing and access to supportive services,” Berkley said. “The city recognizes the importance of responsible partnerships that strengthen our community and provide meaningful assistance to veterans in need.”
Patriot Housing LV, LLC plans to develop the site as a veteran-focused residential community that combines affordable housing with access to supportive services. The proposed project includes multifamily housing designed to serve veterans and their families, along with space for behavioral health services and veteran support programs, as outlined in project materials presented to the city.
Amy Cohen, managing member of Patriot Housing LV, LLC, said the need for veteran housing in Las Vegas continues to grow.
“Las Vegas faces a significant need for safe, affordable housing for veterans,” Cohen said. “Our intent is to work closely with the City of Las Vegas and with local veterans’ organizations to ensure this project delivers real support, stability, and long-term outcomes for veterans who need help.”
City officials noted that the actions taken by the council authorize the next steps in the transaction process. The sale remains subject to final agreements, due diligence, and applicable regulatory approvals.
